Hi there, I'm Daisy. I'm a physical therapist with yoga training, and I believe in your ability to heal your own pain with movement.
I earned my clinical doctorate in physical therapy in 2003 from the University of Minnesota. I absolutely love muscle physiology and biomechanics.
My favorite thing about being a physical therapist is teaching people what they can do to help themselves, and then seeing them do it!
My biggest source of inspiration is Dr. Shirley Sahrmann, PT, PhD, FAPTA, an amazing physical therapist who developed the Movement Systems approach to PT. By teaching ourselves to move better we can move without pain!
I attended yoga teacher training at SunMoon Yoga Studio, and was certified through Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) in 2006. I've taught many types of yoga classes over the years: beginning, mixed-level, pre- and post-natal, power, and flow. I love to teach anatomy workshops where we take a deeper look at parts of the body during different yoga poses.
When the pandemic came, my classes moved to Zoom, and this different way of teaching became a way to reach more people with movement education.
I enjoy leading classes on posture, movement and yoga for local groups, like the high school cross country team or a group of writers. I taught for Heartwork Yoga Studio's teacher training program for many years, and currently teach workshops at River Flow Yoga in downtown Northfield.
I work as a physical therapist at Northfield Physical Therapy, an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Northfield, MN.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family and our tiny dog named Peeky. We all love to run, explore and have picnics.
